Robbins is known as a civil litigator who specializes in a wide range of fields—including business dissolution, sports and entertainment, trusts and estates, anti-trust, real estate, lender liability, arts, employment discrimination, and insurance defense.

Jon Paul Robbins is a graduate of the State University of New York at Binghamton. He received his Bachelor’s Degree of Arts from that institution in 1970 with cum laude honors. Cornell University was where Jon Paul Robbins received his Juris Doctorate, again graduating with honors, in 1973. During his time there, Jon Paul Robbins served on the Board of Editors at the Cornell Law Review. Additionally, Robbins was a member of Cornell’s chapter of the Order of a Coif, which is a collegiate honor society.

Jon Paul Robbins joined Seward & Kissel, which is a law firm based in Manhattan, right after he graduated from Cornell University. He was a civil litigator for that firm up until 1979, which is when he became one of the founding partners of Nitkin Alkalay Handler & Robbins, a law firm that later merged with McLaughlin & Stern in 1992.
